Horace Clifton Smith, 80, of Fremont, died at Toledo ProMedica Hospital on Wednesday, November 13, 2019.
Horace was born in Waldo, Arkansas on March 1, 1939 to the now deceased Horace and Hattie Smith.
He had been plant foreman at the former Quik Cut in Fremont.
His favorite pastime was helping area farmers with the depilation of woodchucks. He spent many hours a day enjoying this endeavor.
Mr. Smith was a lifetime member of the Fremont Moose and Eagles.
He is survived by two daughters, Sherry Lynn Jones and Melissa K. Smith both of Fremont. Two granddaughters, Angie Wax and Racheal Tate, along with his companion, Carol Vermillon.Also Carol's daughters, Linda Merrill; Connie Emrich and Marcella Hickman survive. Seven grandchildren, Brandon Wagner; Dakota Wagner; Brandon Wax; Coraleen Wax; Alontae Smith; Mirajah Tate and Dasani Smith.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 18, 2019 from 10:00 am until the service at noon at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery.
