James W. Carter, 65, of Clyde, died at his home on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.
Jim was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 15, 1955.
He moved to this area when he was 14 years old. In 1973, he graduated from Fremont Ross High School.
Following graduation, he entered the US Army.
Mr. Carter enjoyed being a "fix it man" and a craftsmen. He was a fan of the Indians and Browns, but more a fan of his grandchildren, whom he loved and shared great times.
On September 7, 1984, he married the former Donna Worrell. She, along with seven children, James Carter (Melissa) of Burlington, NC; Tina Gee of Toledo; Joseph Carter of Graham, NC; Jeffery Carter of Burlington; Michael Gee of Marblehead; Steven Carter of Clyde and Nicole Gee of Fremont. Also surviving are twenty grandchildren: Destinie ,Davante, Domonique; Melania; Hudson, Briggs; Cassidy, Kaden; Briley, Sarah, Michael, Jr., Jaden, Jaleigh, Xavior, Autumn, Logan; Sean; Ariadan, Hayes and Arianavella. His siblings, Victoria (Gary) Harmon, of Gatlinburg; Steve Lopez of Fremont; Anthony (Char) Lopez of Fremont and Pamela (Tim) Matter of Cosby, Tennessee.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Rosemary (Adams) and Bisabel Lopez, and a sister-in-law, Jackie Lopez.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 11:00 am until the service at 1:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery with military services.
