James E. Michaels, 77, of Bellevue, died Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the Bellevue Hospital.
He was born June 9, 1943 in Lorain to Jesse Vernon Michaels & Bernice (Harvey) Michaels.
Jim graduated from Sandusky High School and then served our country in the US Air Force. He had been a Perkins Township Police officer and later was a pastor who led several churches in the area, including St. John's in Fostoria, Bascom Union Church, St. John's Lutheran on St. Rt.99, and Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria. He served Hope in Fostoria until November 2020.
On May 25, 1973, he married Donna (Eversden) and she survives in Bellevue. Also surviving are his children: Lisa, James Jr, and Michelle; step-children: Linda and Douglas; and his sister, Laura Michaels.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and his step-daughter, Sharon.
Visitation will be 2:00-4:00pm Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St, Bellevue. His funeral service,due to the Covid red level will be family only at the funeral home with Pastor Robin Kapastosy officiating. Live webcasting will be available at 11:00 am on Monday. Burial will follow in Perkins Township Cemetery.
