Joan P. (Whitmore) Cox

Joan P. Whitmore-Cox, age 87, of Vickery OH, went to be with her Lord and Savior after her death on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at The Willows of Bellevue.

Joan was born in Vickery on October 20,1931 to the late Walter and Dessie (Jenkins) Whitmore. She was a 1949 graduate of Townsend High School and then worked as a waitress and in manufacturing and retired from Sandusky Plastics after 20 years.

She was a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Vickery, Ohio. She enjoyed Sunday School, church activities, flower gardening, reading , and most of all her family.

Joan is survived by her children, Charles (Callie) Minier Jr. of Vickery, and Mary (Mark) Crumrine of Norwalk; eight grandchildren,Tracey (David) Baker, Charity (Aaron) Hunt, Michael (Hollie) Minier, Trisha (Ben) Yourkvitch, Carrie Reinhart, JoAnna (Frankie) Lerma, Danielle (Greg) Hartke, Kristi Crumrine; eleven great grandchildren, Trey, Rachel, Joshua, Michaela, Kiara, Michael, Kayla, Drew, Randi, Jacob, Masen; two great great grandchildren, Adain and Evelynn; and several nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Richard and John Whitmore; three sisters, Rowean Pfieffer, Isabelle Smith, Ethel Kautz; former spouse and father of her three children, Charles Minier; husband Chalmer Cox; and daughter, Betty Jo Minier-Davis.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 12,2019 at 11:00 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Vickery, Ohio.
