John J. Daiello, 83, of Bellevue, died Tuesday, November 3, 2020, surrounded by his family, at his home in Bellevue.
He was born June 5, 1937 in Norwalk to Nunzio & Carmella (Casablanca) Daiello. He attended Bellevue High School and joined the Marine Corps to serve our country from 1955-1958. Since he was 16, John worked many places as a meat cutter. Most notably, he founded Bellevue Meats in 1980. This December they will celebrate 40 years as a family owned and operated business.
John was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue. He also belonged to the Ohio Association of Meat Processors and the American Association of Meat Processors. He enjoyed classic car shows and previously raced super modified sprint cars. John could always be found working, either at the shop, or in his garden.
On July 29, 1961 he married Brenda (Klingelsmith) and she survives in Bellevue. Also surviving are his children: Patty Richards of Huron; Cindy (Jim) Dendinger of Bellevue; Mary (Ken) Dendinger of Bellevue; Nunzio "Newt" (Kim) Daiello of Bellevue; and JoAnn (Eric) Gresh of Bellevue; eleven grandchildren: Travis Richards; Jenna Richards; Ryan (Dana) Dendinger; Samantha Dendinger; Geoff (Danielle) Dendinger; Jacob (Jamie) Dendinger; Gabbie Dendinger; Taylor (Lance Treadeau) Daiello; Miah Daiello; Tori (Greg Walters) Daiello; and Danny Gresh; six great-grandchildren: Aiden, Leo, Kenley, Kowyn, Karsyn, and Maxwell; and his nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his son-in-law, John Richards; brother, Ed (Barbara) Daiello Sr.; and sister, Mary Daiello in infancy.
Visitation will be 6:00-9:00pm Friday, November 6, 2020 at the Auxter Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1105 Castalia St, Bellevue, where the Rosary will be recited at 9:00pm. His funeral mass will be 11:00am Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St, Bellevue with Rev. Kyle Gase officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Bellevue VFW, American Legion, and Marine Corps League.
Memorials may be given to the Epilepsy Foundation or St. John Neumann Society or St. Vincent dePaul Society at Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue.
