John E. Pendleton 74, of Vickery, died at his home on Sunday, March 22, 2020, following an illness.
John was born in Toledo on November 26, 1945. The only child of Merle L. "Penny" and F. Genevieve (Swain) Pendleton.
Prior to his illness, he had attended Faith Memorial Church in Sandusky.
A lifelong farmer, John was a member of the largest graduating class (32 members) of the former Townsend Township High School, in 1963. Then The Ohio State University in 1967, with his degree in agronomy.
John enjoyed the Lyme Village and going out to eat.
Mr. Pendleton had a musical gift of voice, which was enjoyed by those who were fortunate to hear.
His parents are deceased.
Survivors include his maternal cousins, Kurt and Barbara Hasselbach of Springfield, Ohio and Kristine (Hasselbach)and Mike Macechko of Fayetteville, Arkansas. His paternal cousins, John T. Pendleton of Bowling Green, Ohio; Susan (Pendleton) Tucceri of Rio Grande, Ohio; Judith (Pendleton) Bressler of Bowling Green, Ohio; Teresa (Pendleton) Otley of Bowling Green, Ohio; Lynn Pendleton of Bowling Green, Ohio; Mark Pendleton of Bowling Green, Ohio; Doug Pendleton of Bowling Green, Ohio; Karen (McElhaney) Larson of Arlington, Texas; and Joan (McElhaney) Perry of Tyler, Texas survive as well. His caregivers, Jan and Joseph Levi and Katie Nutter also survive.
He was preceded in death by his cousin, Patricia (Pendleton) Gray.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at noon at Castalia Cemetery.
