After a long courageous battle with dementia, Karen Dianne Pearce-Brandon of Clyde, Age 77, went home with Jesus on May 15th, 2021, while surrounded by her loving family at the Willows of Tiffin.
She was born in Fremont, Ohio to parents Irene (Westerbeck) and James Broad on September 21, 1943 and was a member of the 1962 graduating class of Clyde High School.
On February 17, 1961 she married James H. Pearce of Clyde and they were blessed with 5 children and 28 years of marriage until his passing on April 21, 1989.
On December 1, 1995 ,she married Michael A. Brandon of Fremont and welcomed 3 steps-sons. Mike and Karen shared almost 17 years of marriage until his passing on August 25, 2012.
Prior to her retirement in 2011, Karen spent several years as the Head Cook and Kitchen Manager at Clyde Elementary School, working along-side co-workers who became good friends.
Karen enjoyed spending time with family, baking and sewing; however, she will be most remembered for her gifts of kindness to others and always putting their needs before her own.
Karen is survived by her 5 children: Lisa (Bruce) Koonts of Worthington, Amy (Jon) Carper of Clyde, Wendy (Troy) Albright of Green Springs, Rhonda (Rick) Harrah of Clyde, and Jay Pearce of Tiffin; step-sons: Andy Brandon of Fremont, Jared (Heather) Brandon of Pataskla, and Joe (Renee) Brandon of Clyde; twenty-six grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; siblings: Sylvia (Don) Smith of Garden Grove, CA, Janis (Dan) Highley of Battleground, WA, Mary Jo (Dick) Gill of Clyde, and sister-in-law Mary Broad of Findlay.
Karen was also preceded in death by her parents and brother Philip Broad. Karen’s family will be receiving visitation on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 10:00 am at Grace Community Church, 900 Smith Rd., Fremont. Burial will immediately follow at Bakertown Cemetery, Clyde
