Mrs. Pearson was the youngest child born to William Arthur and Kathryn (Voss) Baker on Fremont on August 26, 1915.
She attended the former Hayes Grade School and graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1933.
Kathryn was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Fremont. She was an avid gardener, and after writing a cookbook on wil foods at age 91, she toured with her late husband, Merle, to give talks about their value, and how to gather and cook them. She also loved animals of all kinds, and had many pets in her life, including a skunk and a squirrel.
On October 23, 1937, she married Merle A. Pearson. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2002.
She is survived by so many who loved her; nieces and nephews, great-and great-great nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors - so many in fact that they cannot all be listed here. They all know who they are, and that he loved them all back. A True testament to life well lived. Primarily, she is survived by her son, Dr. Gary (Rickie) Pearson of North Dakota; two grandchildren, Shawn Pearson and Elizabeth Pearson, and four great-grandchildren. Three of the great-nieces were able to be with Kate in her last days and hours: Barbara Conley, Lauralee Wyss, and Sandy Sedlmeier.
