Kathy Jo (Jenkins) Clapp

Kathy Jo Clapp, 73, of Clyde passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at The Bellevue Hospital.

She was born in Sandusky, Ohio on October 11, 1947 to the now deceased Eldred and Elenore (Watters) Jenkins. 

Kathy was a graduate of Thompson School, class of 1966. She worked as a nurse's aid at St. Francis in Green Springs for 25 years and then retired from Autoplas in 2007.

Kathy married the love of her life, William "Bill" Clapp on March 25, 1967 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Flat Rock, Ohio.

She loved reading, crocheting, watching her husband race dirt track and bowling on Friday night couples league at the former Jolly Lanes in Bellevue. Most of all she loved fishing and camping with family and friends, where there were many memories made.

Mrs. Clapp is survived by her three children, Kimberlee (James) West; William "Bill" ,Jr. (Stacey) Clapp and Kelly (James, Jr.) Willey all of Flat Rock, Ohio. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren; Katrina (John) Stuart: Skyler (William) Simpskins; Logan West; Tyler (Jacob) Aaron; Haley Clapp (Tony Alvarez); William R. Clapp; Jamie Willey; Alivia Frost (Zach Adams); Andrew Frost II (Rachel Pierce); Amber Willey and Aaron Willey. Six great grandchildren , along with two sisters, Linda Hahn of Sandusky; Patricia Meggitt of Monroeville and two brothers, |Ronald Jenkins of tiffin and Joseph (Susan, now deceased) Jenkins of Glenwood, Iowa also survive. Two sisters-in-law, Marsha (Jack) Rine of Green Springs and MaryAnn (Ronald, now deceased) Clapp of Flat Rock, two brothers-in-law, Roger (Barbra, now deceased) Liston of Bellevue and Richard (Carol) Clap of Lapeer, Michigan survive as well.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill; in-law, William and LaVonne Clapp, two sisters, Wendy Jenkins and Vicky (Jason) King, along with two brothers, Dennis Jenkins and Eldred "Jim" (Jenny) Jenkins. Also deceased is brother-in-law, Michael Clapp.

A time for visitation will be on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Auxter funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue. The funeral will be at 5:15 pm, at the funeral home. The family is requesting casual attire be worn for the "walk through" visitation. Masks and social distancing will be observed.
