Lawrence "Larry" N. Dinan, 81, of Clyde, died March 14, 2020 at Firelands Hospital, Sandusky.
Larry was born in Fremont on January 2, 1939 to Leo William and Alice (Aldrich) Dinan.
He was a member of the 1956 graduating class of Clyde High School. Larry served in the United States Army after graduation. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde.
Larry had been involved in tractor pulling, always had a large garden and liked to farm, especially caring for his hogs.
Mr. Dinan had worked at Kelsey Hayes in Kingsway, after starting in the foundry. Seasonally, he had worked at the former sugar beet plant.
On February 19, 1966, he married Sue Keegan. She along with three children, Deborah (Randall) Williams of Clyde; Mary (Jeff) Below of Fremont and Leo (Dori) Dinan of Green Springs survive. Six grandchildren Paul (Mariah) Williams; Allison (Conrad) Ruffing; Kelsey(Wesley) Ruffing; Cole Below; Levi Dinan and Acelyn Quaintance, along with great grandchildren Harper; Sawyer; Raelynn and Ryder survive also. One brother, Rollyn (Peg) Dinan and one sister, Jean (Jerry) Kastor all survive in Clyde.
Larry was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence "Larry" II, his sisters, Lillian Yocum; Mary Meyer; and Doris Dinan, and brothers, William Dinan: Ivan "Ike" Dinan; Edwin "Tim" Dinan and Robert Dinan.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 19, 2020 from 4-7:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. Please enter through the front door of the funeral home on Thursday. The funeral will be on Friday, March 20, 2020 at 10:30 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Forest Street, Clyde with Rev. Kurt Luebkeman officiating. Burial will be in Bakertown Cemetery with military rites provided by the Clyde VFW and American Legion.
Because of the corona virus, the funeral luncheon will be held at the Dinan Farm. The meat will be provided, attendees are ask to bring a dish, just like at the Annual Hog Roast.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Clyde FFA.
