Louis M. Garman, 97, of Bellevue, died Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Stein Inpatient Unit in Sandusky.
He was born June 15, 1923 in Cleveland to Ivan O. & Dorothy (Dymond) Garman. He attended York School and then graduated from Berlin Heights High School. Louie served our country in the US Army during WWII. Then, he went on to earn his bachelor's degree from BGSU. Mr. Garman taught for the Bellevue Schools for many years.
Louie was a member of Castalia Congregational Church and the Bellevue Lions Club. He had an adventurous spirit, and shared many interests with his wife, Ardyce. They enjoyed hiking, skiing, dancing, and spending time with their family.
On October 30, 1943 he married Ardyce D. (Byers) and she preceded him in death on March 25, 2019.
He is survived by his sons: Jerrold "Jerry" Garman of Bellevue and Gregory (Maryann) Garman of Cheyenne, Wyoming; grandchildren: Jill Garman Neiger, James Garman, Joshua Garman, Jason Garman, Candace Garman; five great-grandchildren; and his siblings: Evelyn Ferguson of Norwalk; Dale (Linda) Garman of Bellevue; Donald (Barbara) Garman of Bucyrus; and sister-in-law, Luci Garman of Sandusky.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Louie was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Julia Garman; sister, Dorothy Strecker; and brothers, Ivan Garman and Harold Garman.
His funeral service will be 1:00pm Monday, December 7, 2020 at the Auxter Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1105 Castalia St, Bellevue with Rev. John Paputza officiating. In being mindful of staying safe and obeying the current restrictions for gatherings, the service will available on a link here the day of the service. Burial will follow in Omar Cemetery.
