Lucy Bowman, 80, of Bellevue, died Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo.
She was born March 13, 1940 in Bellevue to Emery & Bertha (Perrin) Wollenslegel. Lucy was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Fireside. She graduated from Thompson High School in 1958. On August 6, 1960 she married Robert A. Bowman. Lucy and Bob were blessed to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary just a few days ago. Lucy was a member of Thompson Ruritan and the Farm Bureau. She had worked at National Machinery in Tiffin and Arbors in Clyde. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening. Even though it was a lot of hard work, she enjoyed canning and freezing produce from the garden she and Bob had every year.
Survivors include her husband, Bob in Bellevue; children: David (Ruth) Bowman of St. Louis, Missouri; R. Steven (Connie) Bowman of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; and Suzanne (Chris) Kopko of Chester Springs, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her brother, Robert Wollenslegel of Bellevue.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Howard, John, and George Wollenslegel; and a granddaughter, Char Bowman.
A memorial luncheon and gathering for Lucy and her brother, Bob Wollenslegel will be 12:30pm Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Zion United Church of Christ, Fireside (13525 E. Township Road 178, Bellevue). Auxter Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1105 Castalia St, Bellevue is assisting the family with arrangements.
