Mary J. (Hill) Parkhurst

Mary J. Parkhurst, 66, of Clyde, died at her home on Thursday, June 2, 2022 after a 1.5 year fight with cancer.

Mary was born in Lancaster, Ohio on July 13, 1955.

She was a 1974 graduate of Clyde High School, along with being a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde. Formerly she had been a CUB Scout leader for pack 359. She loved to go camping, canning the produce from her husband’s garden, fish and sew. She had a special talent in spoiling her grandchildren! All of their activities found her in the stands.

Mary retired in 2016 from Revere Plastics.

On September 7, 1974, she married David H. Parkhurst. He, along with their two children, Jocelyn (Dan) Picking of Green Springs and David H. (Karri) Parkhurst, Jr. of Clyde survive. Three grandchildren, Nathan Parkhurst, Mathew Parkhurst and Rylie Parkhurst survive as well.

Mary is also survived by her mother, Geraldine (Bennett) Hill of Clyde, and seven siblings; Deb (Randy) Stout of Clyde; Rick (Peggy Dayringer) Hill of Fremont; Perry (Jennifer) Hill of Clyde; Brenda Hill, Phil Hill, Jeff Hill all of Clyde and Kim (Don) Young of Bettsville. In addition, her mother-in-law, Janet Parkhurst, sister-in-law, Barb Parkhurst; and brothers-in-law, Jerry Parkhurst, Dennis Parkhurst all survive.

Preceding her in death were her daughter, Anna in 1984, her father, Richard Hill and sister, Julie Whitaker, as well as her father-in-law, Raymond Parkhurst.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 6,2022 from 3:00 pm- 6:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral will be on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Parkhurst Cemetery.
