Melinda "Lindy" L. Larkins, 57 of rural Republic, died unexpectedly on May 4, 2021 at The Bellevue Hospital.
Melinda was born in Smyrna, Tennessee (Stewart Air Force Base) on August 27, 1963 to Cecil "Joe" and Karen (Heisler) Sawyer.
Lindy was a member of the 1981 graduating class of Clyde High School. She was also a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde, where among her activities, was helping with the funeral luncheons. She had been a softball coach in Clyde when her daughter Kelsey was young. Lindy was a "real Mom" in every sense of the word, following all the activities and catching up with the kids ideas, always.
Currently, she was an aide on the special needs bus for Clyde Green Springs School. Prior to that, she had worked at Whirlpool and and been an RN.
On August 26, 1996, she married Curtis A. Larkins. He survives. Also surviving are children, Isaac (Lindsay) Shank of Clyde; Kelsey (Brandon) Hoffman of Fremont; Sara (Damien) Parter of Canal Fulton; Natasha (Trey) Shank of Tiffin; Addison Kistler of Green Springs and Kiara Kroft of Highland Park, Michigan. Her mother, Karen Sawyer of Clyde, ten grandchildren and three sisters, Michelle (Jim) Waterfield of Fremont ; Susan (Paul) Nichols of Clyde and Lori (Curtis) Rogers of Bellevue survive as well.
Mrs. Larkins was preceded in death by her father, Joe Sawyer and sister, Sheri Pero.
On Sunday, May 16, 2021, at 4:00 pm at Clyde VFW will be Celebration of Life for Lindy.
