Noel C. Carr, 87, of Bellevue, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 15, 2022 following a brief illness. Noel was born October 9, 1934 in Gilmer County, West Virginia to Thomas and Josie (Mace) Carr.
He was raised in West Virginia then came to Elyria, Ohio in 1956. In 1962, he started his career in Bellevue at Johnson Furnace, which became Magic Chef and was later Armstrong Air Conditioning. He worked his way to the position of Vice-President of Manufacturing. He continued his 32 year career at Magic Chef in Cleveland, Tennessee before retiring in 1995.
Noel was a member and trustee of Providence Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in West Virginia with friends and family riding four-wheelers, deer hunting, or cooking for the deer hunters. Among his favorite things to do were being an awesome Grandpa to Stephanie and Brandon, playing with great-grandchildren Natalie and Noah, sitting on the back porch, telling stories, and making apple butter in the fall with friends and family.
Noel married the love of his life, Jean (Petty) Carr on April 14, 1956 in Braxton County, West Virginia. She survives along with his son Michael (Donna) Carr of Bellevue; granddaughter, Stephanie (Matt) Gildenmeister of Bellevue; grandson, Brandon (Hayley) Carr of Tiffin; great-granddaughter, Natalie; great-grandson, Noah.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Joey N. Carr in 2020; and brothers: Argene Carr, Frances Carr, Orval Carr; sisters: Gladys (Carr) James, Geraldine (Carr) Burns, Madeline (Carr) Garnes.
Friends will be received from 10am – noon on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Auxter Funeral Home, Bellevue, with a service at noon. Pastor Dan Duffy, Providence Baptist Church will officiate. Graveside service to follow at Bellevue Cemetery.
