She was born September 10, 1929 in Fremont to Vance & Eva Mae (Root) Fought.  She graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1947 and Maumee Valley School of Nursing in 1950.  Oramae had worked as a registered nurse and owned Meggitt’s Home Charm Carpet with her husband, Richard.  They were members of Green Springs United Methodist Church and Community Church of God in Lake Placid, Florida.  She was also a hug therapist after graduating from Toby's Clown College in Lake Placid, at the age of 65.  Oramae and Dick enjoyed boating, fishing, ballroom dancing, and traveling to more than 50 countries, but most important was their love of their family, friends, and God.

On December 25, 1951 she married Richard C. Meggitt.  He preceded her in death on November 27, 2015.  Surviving are their children: Randy (Carol) Meggitt of Elyria; Steve Meggitt of Amherst; Matt Meggitt of Fremont; son-in-law, Don Post of Fremont; seven grandchildren: Aaron Post of Upper Sandusky; Dr. Austin Meggitt of Columbus; Angelica Meggitt of Stockholm, Sweden; Ashton Maximo Meggitt of Lakewood; John (Dissa) Meggitt of Clyde; Mindy (Jon) Franks of Clyde; Christy (Alex) McGill of Dallas, Georgia; five great-grandchildren: Lainie, Leo, Sophie, Tanner, Adelynn; and her brother, John Fought of Bradenton, Florida.

Oramae was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Elizabeth Stuart; and twelve hours prior to her death, by her loving daughter, Sara Post.

Her family will hold a celebration of life service at a later date.  Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Clyde is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared at www.auxterfuneralhomes.com.
