Pauline E. (Amert) Brooks

Pauline E. Brooks, 100, of Clyde, died at The Gardens of Clyde on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

Mrs. Brooks was born in Wyandot County, Ohio on July 5, 1921 to the now deceased Catherine (Schlief) and David Roy Amert.

She attended school in Upper Sandusky . 

Most of her life, she was a mother and homemaker, having worked at the Erie Island Turnpike Plaza and Russell's Farm for a period of time.

Pauline liked to crochet, read and complete crossword puzzles. She was an avid card player and games involving dice. She and her husband, had truly enjoyed traveling to all of the states in the United States.

On October 8, 1939, she married Donald Brooks. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1995.

Survivors include two daughters, Charlene (Joe) Barrett and Rosemary Drown, all of Clyde; five grandchildren, Mike Barrett; Neal Barrett; DeeAnne Lohmeyer; Gregory Drown and Heidi Biglin, along with ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Her brother, David Amert of Clyde also survives. 

Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Schell and a son, Donald Brooks, Jr. Also her siblings, Elbert Amert; Edward Amert; Dorothy Belsterli; Mildred Amert; Naomi Paschlic; William Henry Amert and Charlotte Vogel.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 3, 2021 from noon until the service at 1:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or St. Jude's.
