Roger L. Russell

Roger L. Russell, 80, of Bellevue, died unexpectedly at the Bellevue Hospital ER on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

Roger was born in Fostoria on August 11, 1939. He was the only child of Ethern P. and June Carol (Swartz) Russell.

At a young age, his family moved to the Bellevue area, where he was a member of the York High School graduating class of 1957.

Mr. Russell was a member of Faith Bible Church, Bellevue, where he served as treasurer. He was a former Elder of the church. For several terms, he has served as a Groton Township Trustee.

He retired from Spencer Kellogg after 21 years of service and also retired as a Prudential Insurance agent in 1994. In 1980 Roger and his wife Janet opened Russell's Farm Market in Bellevue.  They were the proud owners until 2007 when their daughter Lori and her husband Dan took over.  

On August 26, 1961, he married Janet Moyer. She, along with their four children, Keith A. (Rochelle) Russell : Gregory S. (Dawn) Russell; Eric L. Russell (Colleen) and Lori (Dan) Riedy all of Bellevue survive. Ten grandchildren 4 step grandchildren , twenty great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 3:00 pm -7:00 pm at Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue. The funeral will be at Faith Bible Church on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Scott Jones officiating. Burial will be in York Chapel Cemetery.
