Ronald Ray Rowe, 81, formerly of Green Springs, more recently of Cape Coral, Florida, died at his Florida home on Sunday, May 31, 2020.
Ron was born in Fremont, Ohio on August 3, 1938 to Cecil P. and Lela (Stieger) Rowe.
He spent most of his life in Green Springs, graduating from the former Green Springs High School in 1956.
Ron was employed by the Kenneth G. Myers Construction Co for 62 years, through three generations of Myers' and was still employed by the company at the time of his death. He was very fair, kind and compassionate to all who worked for the company.
Mr. Rowe was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church, Clyde, and while in Cape Coral, the St. Andrews Catholic Church. Also he was a former member of the Green Springs Volunteer Fire Dept; the Green Springs Lions Club and had served on the Board of Public Affairs in Green Springs. He belonged to the Moose,; was a member of the Dads of VFW and had helped with the Boy Scout of America. He served on the board of Power Cable Contractors Association.
Ron had a very active life, having driven stock cars, flown parachuted divers and living his great passion for boating.
His memberships also included the PIB Yacht Club; Crews Nest; Boardwalk; Park Place Boat Club and the Unique Marker Yacht Club.
He was a devoted and loving husband and father to his wife, Judith A. (Kahley) Rowe, whom he married on June 24, 1961; his three children, Ronald R. Rowe and his wife, Michele of Weston, Missouri ; Rick A. Rowe and his wife, Vicki of Clyde, Ohio and Teresa Rowe Appel and her husband, Andrew of Columbus, Mississippi. Eight grandchildren, Krista Hernandez; Britta Luebcke; Ronnie Rowe; Matthew Appel and Jason Appel; Tanner Rowe; Hunter Faris and Chole Hall survive as do five great grandchildren, Madison; Camden; Logan; Brently and Ayla. His sister, Beverly Gilbert of Clyde survives as well.
One brother, Claude Rowe, along with his parents, are deceased.
A walk through visitation will be on Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 4:00pm until the time of the service at 7:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. Visitors will enter the front door of the funeral home, keeping social distancing, then exit the back door. The funeral will be with Father Edward Schleter officiating, for family at 7:00 pm. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery on Friday, June 12, 2020.
