Ruth A. "Toots" Gerstenberger, 93, of Clyde, died at The Gardens of Clyde, on Wednesday, April 14, 2021.
Ruth was born in Upper Sandusky, Ohio to the now deceased Frederick and Hazel (Vent) Karg. She was a graduate of Bellevue High School in 1946.
Mrs. Gerstenberger enjoyed knitting afghans and giving them to the family for their enjoyment. Her favorite time was spent with her family.
She had worked at Farm and Fleet prior to her retirement.
Survivors include her two sons, Dennis (Sherry Lenhart, Clyde and Terry (Betsy) Lenhart of Delaware, Ohio. Her son-in-law, Tom Fisher survives in Clyde as well as a step-daughter, Shirley (Gary) VanKirk survives in Bellevue. Seven grandchildren, Amy; Greg; Jennifer; Rebecah; Elizabeth; Thomas and Laura, four step grandchildren; Dale, Cindy; Derek; Michelle, seven great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren also survive. Her sister, Nancy LeJuene lives in California.
Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband, Hobart "Bud" Lenhart; her second husband, Charles Gerstenberger; her daughter, Karen Fisher and a great grandson, Alaric. Two step sons, David Gerstenberger and Don Gerstenberger along with siblings, Harold Dean Karg; Don Karg; Hazel Linder and Margie Stoneberger preceded her in death.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 10:00 am until the service at 11:00 am at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. Pastor Tony Chwalek will officiate with burial at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.
The family politely suggests that memorials be given to Promedica Hospice, if desired.
