Walter D. Wickerham, 89, now of Fremont, formerly of Clyde, died on Thursday, January 20,2022 at Valleyview Health Care Center.
Walt was born in Townsend Township, Sandusky County, Ohio on December 31,1932 to the now deceased Myra (Young) and Alva Wickerham.
He was a 1950 graduate of the former Townsend High School.
Mr. Wickerham had been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde. He enjoyed reading, old cars and history.
He retired from Dixon Ticonderoga after many years. He enjoyed his duties as the "on call" help at the former Wilson's Clothing in Clyde.
Walt married Nancy (Mitchler) Rakes on January 28,1978. She preceded him in death on January 7,2015.
Survivors include a daughter, Pam Wickerham of Kingsport, Tennessee; a son, Monty (Tracy) Wickerham of Winter Garden, Florida and a stepdaughter, Jill (John) Cullen of Port Clinton. Six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Wickerham was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Wickerham, a stepdaughter Becky Cleveland and a sister Mazie Mattimore.
Private family services are being held with burial in McPherson Cemetery.
