Warren L. Gittinger Sr.

Warren L. Gittinger, Sr., 84 of Clyde, died at the Fremont Promedica Hospital on Thursday, August 18, 2022.

Mr. Gittinger was born in Green Springs on September 1, 1937 to the now deceased Ada Mae (Lee) and Gilbert Gittinger. He attended the Green Springs Schools.

He enjoyed tv westerns, gardening and genealogy. Mr. Gittinger had the patience for wood working which kept him busy.

In 1997, he retired from the Whirlpool Corp in Clyde.

Survivors include three children, Linda Hickman of Tiffin, Kim (Ben) Harvey of Clyde and W. Lee, Jr. (Elaine) Gittinger of Green Springs. Also five grandchildren, Karlee, Jim, Keisha; Mackenzie and Nathan and twelve great grandchildren, along with two great great grandchildren. A brother, Gilbert, Jr. (Norma) Gittinger of Green Springs survives as well. His former wife, Liz (Ingram) Gittinger of Bellevue survives, along with her daughters, Connie, Cheryl and Melissa.

Warren was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angie Andres, the mother of his children, Phyllis Harrah Hutchins, his son-in-law Rick Hickman and a brother, Norman Gittinger.

Visitation will be on Monday, August 22, 2022 from 10:00 am until Noon at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde. Private burial will be held at Egberts Cemetery.

Memorials may be made, if desired, to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
