Wavalene "Kim" Ann (Slane) Carlson

Wavalene “Kim” Carlson, 86, of Green Springs, died at Promedia Memorial Hospital in Fremont on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

Kim was born in Fremont on September 25, 1936 to the now deceased Juanita (Myers) and Merlin c. Slane.

Mrs. Carlson was a 1954 graduate of the former Green Springs High School.

She excelled at embroidery and liked to sew, but her favorite pastime was to spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren!

Most of her working life, she was a waitress or hostess and various eateries. She and her husband, Jerry and owned the former Jerry & Kim’s Diner on 53 in Fremont.

Survivors include three children, Juanita (Frank P.) Marinoff of Fremont; Kimberly Kincaid of Green Springs and Alan (Michelle) Hill of Green Springs. Sixteen grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren, along with three brothers, William (Carol) Slane of Bettsville; Clarence Slane of Bloomville and Leroy (Linda) Slane of Lindsay also survive.

Kim was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Carlson in 1998; an infant daughter, Lottie Hill, a daughter Avis Cole and a son Gregg Hill. Also two grandchildren are deceased.  Siblings, Boyce Slane and Vonda Otto, along with the father of her children John F. Hill is deceased as well.

Visitation will be from Noon until 1:30 pm, the time of the service, on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home and Cremation, 218 South Main Street, Clyde, Ohio.
