William Wood Obituary

William G. Wood, 72, of Clyde, died Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at his home.

He was born May 27, 1947 in Winona, West Virginia to William C. & Virginia L. (Gilkerson) Wood.  He attended Townsend High School and then served our country in the US Army as a first air cavalryman during the Vietnam War.  He worked at Dixon Ticonderoga until it’s closing and then Revere Plastics until his retirement.  Willy enjoyed indulging on pizza and fast food as he tirelessly cheered on the Buckeyes, Browns, Indians, and Cavs. But more than sports and food, he loved his great nieces and nephews, Hunter (Bric) Lenz of Sparks, NV; Ryley and Quincey Dinan of Clyde; and Sabrina, Logan, and Sara Walchak of Michigan, most of all.

Survivors include his siblings: LouAnne (Chris) Hatt of Clyde; Erma Holland of Clyde; nieces and nephews: Jason Dinan of Clyde; Jeremiah (Stacie) Dinan of New Mexico; Michelle (Ed) Walchak of Michigan; Kim McCormick of Michigan; Brian (Aly) Hathaway of Michigan; and 18 great nieces and nephews.

Willy was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Allen L. Wood and Virginia K. Wood.
