Willie Combs, Jr. 89, of Clyde, died peacefully at his home on Monday, January 30, 2023.
Mr. Combs was born in Salyersville, Kentucky on January 3, 1934 to the now deceased Hazel (Picklesimer) and Willie Combs, Sr.
Willie left school to join the United State Army during the Korean War. He was then a member of the National Guard.
For many years he drove truck, some of his time was spent with the former Signal Trucking.
He was a lifetime member of the Clyde VFW. He was an avid golfer as long as he was able to golf. Willie had made some custom clubs for individuals over the years. He had loved to camp with Freda.
Willie married Freda Collins on April 15, 1956. She preceded him in death on June 6, 2020.
Survivors include Sons, Brion (Teresa) Combs of Clyde; Roger Combs of Clyde; Dustin (Kim) Combs of Austin, Texas; Paul Bramel of Tiffin and Jerry (Joanne) Collins of Port Clinton, Ohio. A daughter-in-law, Jackie Combs, along with ten grandchildren; Jessica Rosenberger; Jacob Combs, Jared Combs; Nathan Combs; Dominic, Gabe; Maggie, Lennon Combs; Whitney Woodward and Ashley Childress; and 11 great grandchildren survive as well.
Mr. Combs was preceded in death by a son, James Combs in 2019. He was the last of his family, Flossie Combs, James Woodrow Combs; Nancy Montgomery and Pauline Smith all preceded him.
There will be family services held at a later date.
Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements.
