Someone you just felt smarter just being in the same room....oozed knowledge...and a wit like no other... he didn't waste words...so you better pay attention...especially when adding a punch line to any joke... or a lesson you better because a second explanation is not likely to occur... I don't know what to say except I'm so sorry for his family's loss...and so proud to have known him ...even a little bit

Dave was an amazing Soldier and one of the most competent people I ever served with. But what stood out to me the most is his compassion and ability to communicate with anyone. My first encounter with Dave was during our preparation for a National Training Center rotation in 1998. Our rotation was a difficult one with high stress. But there was Dave. Cool, calm, and totally collected helping everyone he came in contact with, to include me. What a great human being! I will miss you Dave.

Dave was a great mentor to me, and to so many others. I'm thankful for the time we spent together, and for the time that Dave invested trying to make me a better logistician. He was beyond wise, and sought out by so many for that wisdom...a truly quiet professional. My thoughts and prayers are with the Rohrbacher Family.

Dave was my battle buddy in Iraq during our 2008-09 tour, and during that year we ate nearly every meal together and binge watched TV series during our off duty time. He had a great sense of humor, was a consummate professional who inherited years of accumulated problems at an ammo supply point and a year later handed off an operations that was squared away and right. He helped me many, many times and made our time in Iraq easier. I never met anyone who ever had a bad thing to say about Dave - he was a friend to all and helped everyone.
