Bynum E. Hilton, Sr., 89, of rural Republic, died at his home on Monday, February 27, 2017.
Mr. Hilton was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 24, 1928 to Sandy and Hazel Hilton.
At an early age, his family moved to Tennessee where is attended school and was drafted into the US Army, serving during the Korean War.
Bynum was a member of the Green Springs VFW and the Teamsters. He had been a truck driver for Humbert Trucking; Bestway and SealMaster prior to his retirement.
On November 1, 1958, he married Dorothy Vranish. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2008.
Survivors include their three children. Deborah Angel of Tiffin; Lisa (Raymond) Garlock of Vickery and Bynum “Buddy”, Jr. (Katrina) Hilton of Port Clinton. Seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, along with one sister, Virginia French of Cadiz, Kentucky also survive.
He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 4-7:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral will be on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Wahl officiating. Burial will be in Block Cemetery, rural Republic with military rites.
