Beatrice “Betty” Elizabeth Overmier, 87, of Clyde, died at Osceola Regional Medical Center, Osceola, Florida on Saturday April 8, 2017.
Betty was born in Fremont, Ohio on August 31, 1929 to the now deceased Oscar and Beatrice (Rutherford) Turner.
Mrs. Overmier enjoyed playing Bingo and trips to the casinos, as well as following the Indians and OSU. She was an accomplished quilter and excellent at crocheting.
Betty had worked at the former Clyde 5 and 10 and also the former Lighthouse ice cream stores, both in Clyde.
On July 3, 1948, she married Donald W. Overmier. He preceded her in death on February 26, 2005.
Survivors include three children, Linda (Rodger) Yates of Clyde; Joanne (Franklin) Nye of Burgoon and Thomas (Sue) Overmier of Northwood. Nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, along with five sisters, Anne Yott of Alabama; Vi (Ron) Ransom of Fremont; Virginia (Richard) Sheidler of Fremont; Constance (Dan) Weaver of Clyde and Nancy (Jim) Harmon of Bellevue and one brother, Butch Turner of Clyde also survive.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Beatrice Marie Overmier and Patricia Overmier. Two brothers, Robert Turner and Eugene Turner are also deceased.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 4-8:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main Street, Clyde, Ohio. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Springs Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Rodger W. Young VFW Post 6067 , Green Springs, Ohio.
